This was probably the hardest song to translate on this whole album. Special thanks to Miss Hiroko Matsuo for her help. The tendency of the Japanese language to omit subjects and objects really became a problem in this song. I think these lyrics foreshadow the abstractness of future clammbon albums.
Note that there are two somewhat different studio versions: the original on Kujirammbon and the more polished version on JP.
Pan to Mitsu wo Meshiagare | Enjoy Bread With Honey |
Omoidaseba maebure wa tashika Jitensha notte, yatte kita Senaka ni tobikiri no hi wo abinagara Oikakete mo nigetetta Kujiragumo mo kyou kara Atama no ue de mada kochira wo miteru, warainagara ne |
Now that I think about it, the first sign must have Come riding on a bicycle With the lovely sun on its back I chased it, but it got away But just today, that whale-cloud Is staying above my head, looking at me, and smiling |
Chuubu fundzukete tobideta iro wa Aratte mo aratte mo, ochinakatta kedo Raichi no mi wo hitotsu hoobatte Nigotta moyamoya to sayonara dekitara Surechigau hito ya Michi ni saku fumaresou na hanabira mo Aa suteki ni mieru Dareka ni mata aitaku naru |
I squeezed the tube and the color that came out No matter how much I wash it, would not come off, but If I can fill my mouth with a lychee, And say goodbye to that muddled, mixed-up feeling, The people I pass by and The petals blooming in the path only to be stepped on: Ah, they look beautiful and I'll want to meet someone again |

Throw myself to the grass, then, let's begin this story Enjoy bread with honey |

It's bright and just as I narrow my eyes A bit of warmth comes in At last that day has come for me Flipping the switch of a secret machine And everything finally starts moving Like gears spinning clunkily Even though I'm a bit scared... |

The spots of faded color and old scars No matter how much I scrub them, would not disappear, but Someday it will all become delicious, If I can carefully stew it all together, I can say goodbye, The people I pass by and The petals blooming in the path only to be stepped on: Ah, they look beautiful and Can I go meet someone again? |
Kusamura ni nekoronde saa monogatari tsudzukeyou Pan to mitsu wo meshiagare |
Throw myself to the grass, then, let's continue this story Enjoy bread with honey |
If I can say goodbye, The people I pass by and The petals blooming in the path only to be stepped on: Ah, they look beautiful and Can I go meet someone again? |
Yurikago mitai ni yurareru mama yorisotte Nemu no ki ni te ga todoku made |
Being swung like a cradle, Until I can reach the silk-tree... |

Wow! This song has grown on me a lot, but I never imagined the lyrics were so brilliant. Thanks from me too, I'm a Japanese student but it'll be months or years before I could catch all that.
